BII-1100 Series Charge Amplifier: Material Characterization and Signal Conditioning of Piezoelectric Sensors

Studies of Dielectric Materials. BII manufactures differential and single-ended charge amplifiers which can provide test condition of zero electric field for measuring properties of dielectrics such as pyroelectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. BII’s charge amplifiers support direct charge measurement from quasi-static to 1MHz frequency: piezoelectric constants d31, d33 and dh, effects of Thermal/Temperature, Pressure, Electrical Field such as thermal and pressure depoling. BII-1101 has built-in high voltage protection for high electric field characterization such as P/E or D/E Hysteresis (Sawyer-Tower Circuit), dielectric constant and energy loss, and their field-level and frequency dependences. (BII manufactures power amplifiers and step-up transformers for low and high field measurement). A stationary cable has little effect on the charges, therefore a fixed long cable can be used in low frequency measurement.
Signal Conditioning of Hydrophones, Sensors and Array: BII’s charge amplifiers are for measuring the charges resulting from sound pressure, force, acceleration. It sums the charges generated by all elements in parallel electrically of an array to boost the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). The shielded twisted pair cable can be used with BII-1106 and differential piezoelectric elements to reduce EMI over long cable.
