BII-7080 is an omnidirectional programmable-sensitivity hydrophone for general purpose detection of underwater sounds. The hydrophone sensitivity is digitally or manually selected with three lines (A0, A1 and Digital COMMON), which is CMOS/TTL-compatible and power supply rail-compatible. In applications of the active Sonar and sound-source tracking (marine animals, acoustic beacon/pingers/locator, acoustic tags...), the sound level at detection spot varies greater than 40dB (60 dB or higher) because of the variation of transmission loss, target strength, etc... The large varied sound level could be too high or too low for sensitivity-fixed hydrophones. Programmable sensitivity hydrophone BII-7080 is one of the solutions to solve the issue.

Optional mounting parts are available for installation on portable-mounting apparatus, submersibles, pipe, tank or vessel.
