BII-7690 Broadband Ultrasound Transducer: 0.1 to 10 MHz

BII-7690 series low Q (broadband) ultrasonic transducers are designed primarily for use in short-distance echo sounding underwater and NDT (Nondestructive Testing) such as underwater sound velocity profiling, underwater distance gage, flaw detection, thickness gaging and materials characterization. However, these transducers can also be used as low-power general-purpose Sonar transducers. The typical Q is 1.3 (or 3) and results in clean impulse response to spike (Negative or Positive), pulse and burst SINE/Square/Chirp excitation.

BII-7690HT is high temperature low Q (broadband) ultrasonic transducers for uses in high temperature liquids of 120°C or 248°F. 

BII-7690's plastic housing resists attack by acids, alkalis, salt solutions and most other chemicals. There is no risk of corrosion when exposed to naturally corrosive conditions. They will not rust or corrode from electrochemical and galvanic environment.

Technical notes
The cable has adverse effects on the transducer performances in high frequency range. The longer the cable is, the worse the adverse effects on the transducer performance is. When you place order, please specify the shortest cable length acceptable to your project. If you use long cable in your project, you may have an impedance matching unit built inside the transducer to match cable impedance such as 50 ohms RG58 coax.
For use in air, the couplant is a must-have material to provide efficient acoustic coupling between the transducer face and the piece under test.
Solvents shall not be used with BII-7690 series transducers, such as hydrochloric acid, isopropyl alcohol, ethyl lactate, acetone, xylene, Iso hexanes, mineral spirits, etc...
