BII7590 series transducers are low-frequency, broadband, multi-resonance Free Flooded Ring (FFR) transducers characterized by a low-quality factor (low Q). They provide a toroidal beam pattern and operate over a frequency range of 1–30 kHz, making them suitable for deep- and shallow-water acoustic communication as well as low-frequency underwater sound generation.
The BII7590 series is not designed for underwater acoustic detection. In a pulse-echo or transmit-receive acoustic system, a BII759x transducer emits underwater sounds while a separate hydrophone detects the returning echoes or ambient sound sources.
