Benthowave power amplifiers are designed to drive piezoelectric transducers, which can be used in short range and long range underwater active SONAR system, acoustic communication (FSK, PSK and Spread Spectrum System), nonlinear acoustics (cavitation, streaming and nonlinear interaction, HIFU), underwater acoustic positioning and bioacoustic audiogram and behavior studies, and to drive headphones for underwater sound listening.

BII provides two kind of packages of power amplifiers for different filed application:

Technical notes
The cable has adverse effects on the power amplifier performances in high frequency range. The longer the cable is, the worse the adverse effects is. If you use long cable in your project, you may have an impedance matching unit in power amplifier to match cable and load impedance such as 50 ohms RG58 coax and 50 ohms load.

Technical Notes

Class AB is a cross between class A and Class B operation. the two transistor elements are designed to conduct more than half the cycles, and push-pull circuit is used to reproduce a complete cycle of signal. So class AB operation is to minimize distortions - especially cross-over distortion. The efficiency is below 78.5%.
In a Class D or switching amplifier, all power devices operate at switch mode. They are either fully on or fully off. Very little time is spent during transitioning between those two states. High power conversion efficiency of above 90% can be achieved.
